About 20% of the worlds food goes to waste. Uganda fares slightly better, but the economic implication is that we lose about 12% to 20% of our total arable farm production. about half of this product can be saved by processing, and consumed later, in different forms. At Innovation Consortium, we realize that stopping these losses will be crucial in our agricultural economy and for the financial and food security of the nation.
A product that can be installed in our homes, or in a market place, and prevent loss of left over or surplus produce by converting it into nutritious powders, which are easily transportable, stored and will last longer, may be a viable solution.This will also open up a new market for semi processed organic food, and nutritious powder blends that can easily be cooked.
