Over the weekend, we crowned this year's Medal of Excellence winners in a colourful ceremony that also saw Innovation Consortium celebrate 10 years of championing sustainable innovation in Uganda.

Medal of Excellence 2024
The third edition of Innovation Consortium’s Medal of Excellence Award was concluded over the weekend from which the winners were;
• First prize of UGX 11,000,000 was won by WOKOBER team for their Wokober Stem submission
• Second prize of UGX 5,500,000 was… won by Benjamin Lutakome and team for their Kadaala submission
• Third prize of UGX 3,500,000 was won by Samantha Keshara for her Hemosave Device submission
• The wild card prize which is given to the most outstanding wildly imaginative idea was won by Bimark Kyabangi and Emmanuel Gwotcho for their ICHI E-bike submission
Innovation Consortium offered to finance the prototyping of seven projects and also offered UGX 1,500,000 worth of personal protection equipment for all the young participants of Wokober Stem.
We would like to thank all the participants and general public for your determined participation while also congratulating the winners on joining the prestigious small class of recognised local ideators.
The next edition of Medal of Excellence will be announced in July 2025. Thank you.

We would like to thank everyone that participated in the just concluded Medal of Excellence 2024 Public vote.
Using previous Medal of Excellence Award editions as a cornerstone, our technical team specially designed this year’s voting system to be very …transparent, fair and secure so as to maintain the highest level of authenticity that is commonly associated with the Innovation Consortium brand. So despite initial glitches, over 8,000 votes from all over the world were cast via our website www.inovug.com.
Please be reminded that the public vote constitutes only 20% of the final mark and as such, a participant’s score in the public vote only improves their chances of becoming this year’s Award winner but it doesn’t automatically translate to that similar position in the final ranking.
The final phase of this competition is the physical presentation of submissions by participants and the award ceremony which will both take place on Innovation Consortium’s decennial anniversary on 15th November 2024
Innovation Consortium reserves the right to invitations for this prestigious event but our lines and spaces are open for any assistance.

This is a notice to all finalists and the general public taking part in the ongoing Medal of Excellence public vote, please be reminded that the public vote constitutes only 20% of the final mark. And as such, a participant's score in the public vote …improves their chances of becoming this year's Award winner but it doesn't automatically translate to that similar position in the final ranking. This is because assessment of submissions to Medal of Excellence Award is done in 3 phases which are;
Technical assessment 75%
Public vote 20%
Final presentation 5%.
